What I Like Most About Photography

What I like most about photography is being able to capture a moment in time and capsulizing special memories, which is the main reason I want to be a photographer. You're able to capture really happy times. Like how I said in a previous blog, I want to be a special events photographer because I want to be able to catch unforgettable times in people's lives and put it into digital or physical form.

Photography also allows me to express my creativity through new ideas for a picture. I've always been a creative person and photography gives me an outlet in a way. You can build off of other people's ideas to make something really cool. You can also find your subject anywhere. You see a cool coffee shop? Take a picture of it. You see a nice bike? Take a picture of it. You see a cute cat? Take a picture of it.

Even after taking pictures, editing the pictures you've taken can be really fun because if you've taken a not so good shot, you can improve it through editing. You can take a picture of something as simple as a fruit basket and it can still turn out really cool if you do the right things to it.Transforming and making the picture exactly how I want it has always been an enjoyable process for me, and it isn't incredibly difficult.

I also feel that you never fully "master" photography, because there is always something new to learn. Also, new technology is constantly coming out that allows your camera to do different techniques or gives you the chance to take pictures from different angles and locations. For example, underwater cameras allows you to take pictures of sea life or how recently perfected drones can fly a camera up and lets you take pictures from high above. There's also a multitudinous amount of lenses and filters you could use to enhance your pictures. There's always something new to experiment with in photography, which keeps it interesting.

In addition, photography is an incredibly flexible job. It gives you freedom, if chosen to be a profession, to do almost anything you want. You can have your own schedule because it's not a 9 to 5 desk job where you do the same thing everyday. Especially if you're a nature photographer, because a mountain isn't going to move, so you can go out at almost any time and take a really beautiful picture. As a photographer, you can travel and get paid to take pictures of amazing things.

What I like about other people's photography is trying to figure out the reason they took that specific picture. Some photos have hidden messages and meanings about issues going on in the world or they're metaphors for certain things. Some don't even have a message and can be interpreted in so many different ways, which is one of my favorite things about photography.

The creativity and freedom of expression is what makes photography so desirable to me, and will always be one of my favorite things.
