Indispensable Photography Equipment

I think that the most indispensable and essential pieces of equipment for photography are an SD or memory card, a camera strap and a sturdy tripod.

Firstly, the importance of a memory card: An SD card is probably the most important piece of equipment in photography right next to and maybe even more important than a camera. Without this, taking pictures would be pointless because none of them would be saved. Most cameras do not even work without an SD card in it because it's that important. Without the card, pictures have no way of being transferred onto a computer. You would be unable to edit your pictures as well as being unable to upload your pictures anywhere because you have to insert your SD card onto your computer to be able to retrieve them, which is why a memory card is so necessary in photography.

Secondly is the importance of a camera strap: If you're anything like me, who is the clumsiest person ever, a camera strap is essential because it takes away the risk of dropping the camera. This coming from someone who drops her phone at least once a day, I never handle a camera without a camera strap around my neck, especially if it isn't mine, because reimbursing someone for $900 to $1,500 is not the plan for me anywhere in the future. Also, breaking a camera can also damage the lens, which can also be quite pricey. You can also risk loosing all of your photos when dropping a camera because you can drop it in a puddle of water or something else detrimental to an electronic device. So this just goes to show that a camera strap is very useful for the prevention of damaging a camera.

Lastly, the importance of a tripod: A tripod is in-disposable for a photographer in my opinion for the quality of pictures during photo shoots. This is because sometimes, people have shaky hands and taking photos by hands can cause the picture to come out blurry, even if the focus and settings are correct. I also think it gives better and more options for angles than taking a photo manually. Also, I feel that tripods are better for panoramic landscape shots or photos of that nature because it gives a more broad depth of field range because you can move the tripod up down, left and right using the handle. Also, a tripod allows everyone to be in the picture, including yourself, by setting a timer and simply placing it on the stand. While it isn't necessarily an essential piece of equipment, there are a lot of pluses to having a tripod and it does make certain pictures easier to take.

There are a lot of other key components in photography that are needed in order to be the most successful photographer you can be like: lighting, a computer, lenses and so much more, I think that these three things are the top most indispensable pieces of photography.
