Fear of Being Too Good?

Okay but on a serious note, the fear of being "too good" can actually be a legitamate worry, especially in photography. Not necessarily like the way it's stated in the above picture, but there are a few worries that come to mind when I think I've taken a good picture. One example is that I always doubt myself; I think "this is too good to be true, there has to be something wrong with it". Or, I'm afraid that even though I think it's an amazing picture, other people wont respond the same way. Like when you're so confident about something and someone interprets it in a completley different, sometimes negative way and then your feelings are crushed. Of course critisicm, whether it be negative or positive, is inevitable when you put yourself or your work out to be seen. But it doesn't make the negative comments hurt any less.
Also, good things tend to always be criticised the most. Because with good things come attention and with attention comes a multitude of different opinions. Someone could find the cure for cancer or save an old lady from a burning building and people would still find something bad to say about that person (which I think is completely messed up but I digress). It's a legitamate fear to be scared of success or too much attention. Like the creator of "Flappy Bird" for example. His game became a huge success and he made hundreds of thousands of dollars each day, but he didn't want the all of the attention the game was recieving and he took Flappy Bird off of the app store. But back to photography, when you think you've taken one of the best photos in your career, it's success and attention can absolutley be something you want. Especially when it's something you've worked so hard on achieving. But not everyone is in it for the fame and fourtune and when the success becomes overwhelming and unwanted is when it causes a problem.
No matter these worries and fears, no matter what other think or say, I feel that everyone needs to push themselves out of their comfort zone. We shouldn't let the fear of criticism and mean comments hold us back because that's what helps us grow and accumulate a thicker skin. If everyone held back their great and crazy ideas because of fear of back lash then the world wouln't be as advanced as it is today. Even if you're scared to do something as simple as posting a picture you think is good to your page, do it because you never know where that single action may take you. It shouldn't matter waht people say if you feel in your heart that you're putting out something fantastic. Putting yourself out there with any type of content, good or bad, can be a scary thing. But, even if you fall flat on your face or the outcome is not how you expected it to be, it's better than thinking "what if".
